The Golden Cone Award

The Golden Cone Award will be awarded every year at the end of the autocross season, usually at the CVO Holiday party. The person with the lowest number of cones hit per run is the winner. The entire season is used to calculate the winner, even autocross events that might not count towards the CVO Cup (Treffen autocross, for example). The total number of cones hit is divided by the total number of runs to get the cones per run average.

The winner’s name and cones per run average is written on the cone along with the year of the autocross season.

In the event of a tie, the person that attended the most events is the winner. If there is still a tie, all persons in the tie are named on the award.

The Golden Cone is to remain in the possession of the CVO. It is not actually given to the winner. It can be displayed at the autocross events, even used as a cone at the starting line.

The Golden Cone Award will be awarded based on the following rules:

  1. Must be a CVO member in good standing
  2. Must have attended at least 3 autocross events in the season
  3. Must have at least 15 runs in the season (DNF runs count for this total)
  4. DNF runs do not count as a valid run for calculating cones per run average and any cones hit during a DNF run will not be counted
